Deliverables
Clothing pattern factory files and packaging artwork file for mass production
Role
As the sole graphic designer at The Comfy, I worked closely with the Marketing Director and CEO to design original clothing patterns and develop packaging from the ground up. The challenge was to maintain a consistent, recognizable brand identity across all packaging while tailoring designs to appeal to distinct audiences—adults, children, and a special edition in partnership with The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, the largest and most well-funded breast cancer organization in the U.S.
Clothing Patterns
Collaborating with the Marketing Director and the CEO, I created the following seamless patterns and prepared files for the factory to be printed on the wearable blankets.
Final Results
Photography
We organized a team event where I led the photography effort, capturing candid and styled shots of coworkers wearing The Comfy. These photos were later incorporated into packaging designs.

Packaging Design
Process
The first package that I was tasked to design was the snuggy package for adults. It was a redesign project since there was an existing design created from a freelancer platform. The goal of this redesign project was to make the package look cleaner and more fun. The fun aspect of the brand was something that the company focused on promoting.
Working with the marketing specialist who created the content for packages, we have discussed and come to the conclusion that the front of the box would show the main image, logo and call to action. The sides would be utilized to promote other products and show more images. The back would include features and a lifestyle image of models wearing the products in an interior setting. Knowing where everything goes assisted me visualize the design better. Then, I made some sketches.

More Package Designs
As more products were being launched, more package designs were requested. I have input the concepts from the first design shown above to the other packages. Therefore, when they are displayed on the shelf together, there is a consistency which could assist customers to recognize the brand better. The Marketing Specialist and I have also come up with the foot shape cutout on the Comfy Feet (oversize socks) package. It captures attentions and demonstrates the playfulness of the brand.
Packages in Stores
Seeing my designs on the shelf of Bed Bath and Beyond was the most rewarding experience ever!
